ABOUT FENG SHUI

What is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of placement, literally meaning Wind and Water, or the flow and containment of energy. This energy is called Qi (also known as Chi). Qi can be considered the life force present in all things, but also the influence that inanimate objects have on living beings. Feng Shui has been used for over 3,000 years in China, and is recognized as a source of power.

Feng Shui uses the shape of the land and the layout of buildings to manage the flow of Qi. It is used to make a home, business or garden function better for people by allowing a natural flow of positive Qi. This is accomplished by balancing yin and yang with the five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water). This approach is Form School Feng Shui.

Specific techniques are also used, such as Flying Stars, based on the astrology of the building. Flying Stars uses time and compass orientation to find the best areas of a building for Feng Shui adjustments. Adjustments are made with the five Elements. Some adjustments and enhancements are traditional, such as water fountains. But Breakthrough Feng Shui only applies enhancements that suit the style of the client. The method described above is Compass School Feng Shui. Breakthrough Feng Shui does not use adjustments that are impractical (i.e. those based on superstition).

Feng Shui in Asia also has another strong component not used widely in the West. This component includes the various forms of Chinese Astrology. Four Pillars of Destiny and Ming Gua can be used to find a person’s best Elements and times of challenge or support, as well as general personality information. Darlene can find your best personal directions for sleeping, working, eating, etc.

Feng Shui can be used to enhance specific areas of your life. Good Feng Shui encourages harmonious living, prosperity, vitality, health and positive relationships. With awareness and intention, these changes can manifest themselves in your life through your space.
